Kanban Board

The Kanban Board is your primary command interface. Every piece of work — whether done by a human or an AI agent — starts as a card here.

Creating a task

Press N or click + New Task. Each task has:

  • TitleShort, action-oriented. e.g. Add rate-limit middleware to /auth routes
  • DescriptionThe outcome you want. Be specific — agents use this as their primary context.
  • Acceptance criteriaOptional but recommended. Bullet list of what 'done' looks like.
  • AssigneeHuman, single agent, or a full multi-agent squad.
  • PriorityLow / Medium / High. Affects Orchestrator scheduling.

Status columns

Backlog

Planned, not started.

In Progress

Active work. Agent lane turns live.

Review

Orchestrator audit running.

Done

Shard validated and merged.

Assigning to an agent

Every task can be assigned to a human, a single AI agent, or a multi-agent squad. When you assign to an agent and move the task to In Progress, Alfred primes the agent with the task description, acceptance criteria, and the relevant Knowledge Graph context.

Auto-linked branches

When an agent picks up a task, Alfred automatically creates a Git branch named after the task ID. All agent commits go to that branch. When the Orchestrator validates the Shard, it merges the branch to main and closes the task. The card moves to Done automatically.
